Our local beach is at the foot of Macdonald Street; you can be there in two minutes (and run back to the Inn for your camera).

When not beachcombing, you can - among other things - get a tan, pick up a souvenir for your cat or dog, drop off your dry-cleaning,  get your hair cut, order new eye glasses, browse in an art gallery,  pick out a new board game, purchase a bottle of wine, get a massage, browse knitting supplies, buy a computer, visit Vancouver's first legal cannabis outlet, check out electric bikes, have a painting framed, shop for bathing suits, select a skateboard and sign up for diving lessons in our immediate neighbourhood.

Restaurants you can walk to in under five minutes...

The Only Café, Beehive, Dark Table, Cafe Lokal, Tapatio Mexican Cafe and Bar,  Healthy Noodle House, Naam, Nusa Coffee, Darby Dawes Pub,  Chewie's Biscuit Company, Linh Café, Jolly's Indian Bistro,  Little Bird Dim Sum + Craft Beer, Nishi Sushi, Bangkok City Café, and Artistry Coffee.

Tatlow Park with its woods and creek is half a block away from the Corkscrew Inn.

There you'll find free public tennis courts (racquets to borrow are in the upstairs hall wardrobe).

Snow in Vancouver is rare and magical.
